Following the class, there will be a 30 minute membership meeting to vote on our incoming Board of Directors and the 2025 RMAA budget. If you are a RMAA member in good standing, please plan to stay after the class for the membership meeting.
Class description:
With lending work slowing to a crawl, many appraisers have expanded their type of work. Expert witness testimony can be a critical component in non-lender work. This course will discuss the different roles, assignment types, clients and expectations for appraisers in litigation assignments. A large part of these assignments will include expert witness testimony, discovery and additional documentation in the workfile.
Students will learn:
• How to identify clients and intended uses of appraisals for litigation
• Recognize different assignments, roles and levels of involvement
• Understand the report particulars for litigation appraisal reports
• Understand the opportunities in litigation assignments
