The Limitations of Actions Against Appraisers Bill, SB25-035, was approved by the Senate this week with a vote of 31-1 (2 senators were absent and 1 seat is vacant). The bill has been introduced in the House and assigned to the Business Affairs & Labor Committee where it is scheduled to be discussed on 03/27/2025.
The amendments we previously shared have been incorporated into the bill. The Reengrossed bill is attached for your reference. We encourage you to review the Reengrossed bill and to contact your House representatives with your feedback on how this bill will – or will not – protect you in your personal practice.
The RMAA board fully supported the original bill as written but does not support the amended bill, as it fails to protect the majority of our membership by largely excluding residential lending work from coverage.
